We’re thrilled to introduce you to Stratasan’s 2021 intern, Joe Lipshutz. Joe got connected to Stratasan through the Google for Startups Fellowship in partnership with atlas.vet. The program pairs veterans exiting the military with technology companies for a three month fellowship/internship!

What’s your name?
Where did you go to college and what did you study?
I studied mechanical engineering at West Point and graduated in 2016. I’ve spent the last four and a half years in the army in both artillery and space operations.
Where are you from?
I’m originally from Roseburg, Oregon. Since college I’ve made stops in Colorado, Oklahoma, Kentucky, and Germany.
How did you learn about your Stratasan Internship? Why did you choose it?
I got connected with Stratasan through the Google for Startups Fellowship in partnership with atlas.vet. The program pairs veterans exiting the military with technology companies for a three month fellowship/internship! As part of the matching process, I had the opportunity to interview with Haley, and Stratasan stood out to me as a place I could see myself learning a new industry.

1) I once sang for President Obama at a White House Hanukkah party.
2) I’m an avid hiker.
3) Since college, I moved four times in four years for the Army.
What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?
In 2015 I got to see City and Colour live in Boston.
If you were a new addition to the crayon box, what color would you be and why?
As a proud Portland Timbers fan, I’d be moss green!
